Big Mike Signer in the Burg on Wed, 4/8

With about two months to go, Mike Signer's LG campaign has raised $250,000 from over 800 donors, even more significant is that over 600 (75%) folks donated online, more than any other candidate in the four-way race for the Lieutenant Governor slot on the Democratic ticket.

Mike is fired up and ready to roll out his game plan to perform a take-down of the Republicans' nearly invisible incumbent LG, Bill Bolling. The potential synergy of Signer's fast-break, progressive game, with Creigh Deeds strong appeal with moderates and independents could make a powerful combination, that would overwhelm a Republican ticket that is measurably out-of-sync with mainstream voters in Virginia.

With the candidate filing process behind them, the Signer team is hitting the road for a state-wide Barn Storming tour. Locally, Mike will be in Harrisonburg on Wednesday April 8th:

Mike Signer Team: We won VAYD Lt Gov Debate!

Rockingham County's own UVa senior Sterling Elmore, was favorably impressed by Mike Signer's performance a the LG debate at the VAYD convo in C'ville this morning.

You have to give this campaign team credit, they know how to use Web 2.0 technology! Reminds me of aggressive use of social networking and new media in the Obama campaign. We all know how that played out.

This should give some Big Mo to Mike's campaign. He has some strong support in NoVa, but he will have to take his campaign to all areas of the state to build some margin over the other strong candidates in the LG race. We'll have to wait and see how much buzz the Young Dems take back to their home districts.

Mike delivered 13,354 hand-signed petitions to the State Board of Elections in Richmond today, more than enough to cover the 10,000 petitions required to secure a place on the ballot. Mike was the second candidate for Lieutenant Governor to file his petitions.
