I've been following this issue in the DNR and I am becoming concerned about how this is going to affect not only the quality of our water, but also the supply. Where are two to nine million gallons of water per well going to come from?
The drillers have not said where they will get the water. It may have to be trucked, 7,500 gallons at a time back into Bergton.
It will likely have to be trucked back out unless the County and State allow them to spray the drilling brine onto the land. They have asked for permission to do that. In many places they simply mix it with dirt and bury it right at the drilling site. This represents a leaching risk to well water.
