NRA Supports Terrorists "Rights"

Terrorists who want to buy guns have friends on Capitol Hill

Apparently Terrorists are too dangerous to fly on planes, but not too dangerous to buy weapons. Lovely logic.

Yeah...about that list....

The same list that you want to use to suspend the 2nd Amendment rights of citizens without due process....

Would you be happy to use it to suspend the 1st also? I mean, the power to spread an evil message to others allows the terrorists to organize....

If you end up on a secret list, unable to remove your name, shouldn't you be forbidden to have a blog? I mean, if you're on a secret list, with unknown criteria for getting on that list, without a way to remove your name or review it, you MUST be a bad guy....

Forget about due process....I'm sure the government doesn't make mistakes.

Cargosquid,
I don't know what the criteria are for getting on this list, but I suspect that to get on it, the Government must have enough classified intel on a suspect to warrant the inclusion, just not enough hard evidence to pursue an arrest. They don't just pick people at random to put on the no-fly list. This is obviously a gray area and a flawed one at that.

But it is the system now and for the most part works. If there is enough info/evidence on a suspect to be deemed an in-flight risk by the Government, then it's probably safe to say that he isn't trying to buy a gun for his family's protection.

If you blocked terrorists from buying guns where would that leave the right wing crazies like the christian militias? Without guns? Can't have that!

Ted Kennedy was on that list. If the person is dangerous enough that they cannot safely fly, why the heck are they not arrested? People all over the country are on that list, falsely, and they cannot get off.

You have enough faith in the government to restrict the rights of free citizens? Again, would you support the restriction of the 1st Amendment if YOUR name was on the list?

How about those people that already own a gun? Do the cops come and seize the weapons in the home? Without due process?

Why is it secret? I mean, once you can't fly, you know that you're on the list....
