The only thing real in this bill is the trillion dollars of cost money we do not have

Can anyone see China with control of the USA maybe thats what OBAMA wants anyway.

I started a small business to deliver services, not provide healthcare to my employees. The government needs to run this thing because the Health insurance companies are ruining American businesses with their fees.

J. Tyler Ballance said...

A National Heath Service should have the full support of all Americans, regardless of party affiliation.

1. Currently, there is widespread job discrimination, especially against Americans over forty, because businesses do not to want to risk higher insurance bills for the older workers. Even employed, older workers, know that they are the most likely targets for lay-offs and firings.

2. Business owners often elect to hire part-time workers as a way of avoiding the cost of benefits, including health insurance. This hurts the quality of service for customers and the quality of life for the workers.

3. There are numerous other benefits to having a National Health Service, but I will be brief. Business owners will no longer have to spend the time and effort to manage employee health benefits, freeing American enterprise to do what it does best; produce.

The chief criticism of a National Health Service is always that Canada or Britain's programs have deficiencies. Why on earth would the United States NHS have to suffer any of the failings of those in much smaller countries? As Americans, we have regularly set the world standard of excellence in our national pursuits. Our military is the best on the planet, our space program is without peer, so why should we not expect our National Health Service to be a model of excellence for the rest of the world to follow?

As for the complaint that we would have rationed health care under a national system, most Americans would prefer an accountable federal system to the rationing that goes on by our dubious insurance providers who manipulate the current system for their own profit.

When we look at all that e have created through our national and locally run programs, everything from military, to roads, to sanitation or fire protection, America has done exceptionally well with our national and local government programs. There is no logical basis to presume that the creation of a National Health Service would be anything short of our usual level of excellence.

J Tyler Ballance do you really believe that bs you are shoveling? The USA is broke now, we can not afford this. Remember how good Obama made the stimulus package sound now that has failed it was suppose to keep unemployment under 8% now it is over 9% now he wants to spend another trillion dollars with the HOPE it is going to fix health care. People wake up BHO has no idea how to fix anything, but he sure is giving the Republicans alot of ammo for 2012

TJ, points well made. I often wonder why people think having an insurance company bean counter administer their medical services is so much more preferable to having a civil servant do so. Especially when you see that +30% of health care costs go to administration.

North Korea is going to give Obama the 3 in the morning phone call that Hillary Clinton knew he could not handle.

Anonymous said...

You really want the goverment running health care? They have done such a great job with everything else hahaha What a joke.

Anonymous said...

VDOT does not even have money to cut the grass on the roads. Va has a 300 million dollar short fall thanks to Kaine. Do you really think they are doing such a good job ?

Travis P said...

Bubby,
Compare that 30% to the roughly 1-2% administrative costs of running Medicare. Amazing how that works (both financially and ethically) when you remove shareholders and outrageous executive compensation from the equation.

jtb,
i hear rome had really sweet aqueducts.....

which is to say that our country's amazing accomplishments over a half century ago do very little to reassure me that we can develop a national healthcare system that will be a shining light to the rest of the world today (if you want an example of american efficiency these days, i think you'd do better to look at the usps).

you seem to acknowledge the real world failings of health care systems in other countries, but then manifest an incredible naivete when you assert that we're americans, we're awesome, and we can do better.

and really, it's that kind of thing that worries me far more than whatever screwed up healthcare system we inevitably end up with.

Bubby said...

Fortunately seth, most Americans have a can-do attitude.

BTW;I just switched back to USPS overnight mailing, they're cheaper than FedEx.

seth said...

that's great....

this article:
http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-09-674T

talks about the somewhat dire situation in which the postal service currently finds itself (in all fairness, a significant portion of the shortfall can be linked to the declining volume of mail).

i hope really do hope that a can-do attitude is enough. however, until i see that it is, i'm inclined to continue to label it as naievete.

Seth I salute you well said

Bubby i know you do not believe the goverment can handle health care better than the private sector do you ? REMEMBER AIG that worked so much better when BHO got control didn't it,BHO made sure the executives got the bonuses even when the company was loosing millions. I never heard of a company rewarding workers for failure.

Bubby said...

AIG isn't a healthcare insurer, they insured risky investments in the unregulated financial markets and George W. Bush gave them $85 Billion to cover their losses. You really do need to sit on your hands and pay attention.

Anonymous said...

BHO and Hillary Clinton both pushed that bill threw please check on that please as you are confused again.

Anonymous said...

85 million was a drop in the bucket to the 240 million wasted on AIG bonuses

Lowell Fulk said...

I'm beginning to think anon is a manufactured persona really just trying to make R's look stupid.

Bubby said...

Ernest:
Remember Johnny Mac suspended his campaign to come back to Washington to lead the Republicans in the bailout on behalf of Bush?...that was pretty funny huh?

And you need to work on your math skills, AIG got $85 Billion (with a B). $240 million is 0.3% of that, or a drop in the bucket. But never mind that, the bonuses were returned.

Pay attention, you are putty in the hands of Rush Limbaugh.

Toni D. said...

Silly putty?

Anonymous said...

The stimulus package was a failure can we get that back also ? The last statement from AIG was they had only gotten 2.8 million back,so keep on drinking that KOOL AID.

Anonymous said...

How pathetic you democrats are

Bubby said...

Ernest,
Calm down son the adults are in charge. Remember you were all on board with getting government out of the way of Wall Street and kicking Saddam's ass. Well, that stupid stuff got America in a world of hurt and now lady liberty really needs you to pop a Rambo flick in the VCR and shut the F up. OK?

Toni D. said...

Most definitely silly putty. "The adults are in charge." Well said Bubby! It's like some dumb kid sneaked out and ran his parent's car over the bank and into a tree and is now throwing rocks at the tow truck driver and body shop technicians.
I disagree with Lowell, I think "Ernest" is for real, and is really that dumb.

I love the fact that the coward anon insists on reinforcing the stereotype of the diminishing and irrelevent neocon movement.

There is a reason why the world has rejected this type of ethno-centric arrogance and greed...and anon is their poster child.

And although we are mildly amused by his childish rants, we are still waiting for him to man up....knowing full well that neocon pussies like anon will never man up and can only attack from the periphery. Enjoy your downward spiral to irrelevence anon/republitarian/briggman/frankie BOY/dong, etc.!

You Democrats sure get angry when someone brings up the stimulus package why is that ? I thought the Recovery- stimulus package was a good thing now you would rather somebody say Obama's middle name that the word stimulus its funny how quick that changed. Joe Biden has more common sense that the bunch on here does he can admit when he is wrong.

old coot said...

Been watching the comments on this site for the last couple of days and what I see is that the only "angry" commenter seems to be this "anon" person.

Lowell Fulk said...

Old Coot says,
"the only "angry" commenter seems to be this "anon" person."

Bingo...

Anonymous said...

DEMOCRATS ARE ALWAYS ANGRY AND HATE PUKING PARTY HACKS!!!!

SCREW YOU FULK!!!!

Anonymous said...

Still don,t have anything to say about the stimulus package do you party hack ?

Anonymous said...

Lowell, when Crying Deeds looses maybe you and the good mayor can help him out with some kind words of encouragement being you both have experience with being loosers.

Travis P said...

Anon the coward is such a buffoon. Can't spell, can't properly complete a sentence, can't continue a thought line. Ignorant blather is the hallmark of the dying neocon movement. Please don't stop posting. It makes us all laugh.

Anonymous said...

Travis P can you tell anyone how the stimulus has created the jobs BHO promised?

Anonymous said...

You party hacks wont be laughing when the Obama backlash hits.

seth said...

i like you guys,
that's why i'll suggest that you avoid the kind of discourse going on here and be weary of discounting the entire republican party because you've found one easy target. (i'd also avoid calling people pussies (particularly on what in my mind at least, is a party sanctioned site). once you get comfortable feeling like you're not really degrading women by using that one, fag follows shortly there after)

Anonymous said...

Can you spell a lower approval rating for BHO? The honeymoon is over, the empty promises BHO made are coming home to roost hahaha

Anonymous said...

BHO'S strongly approve rating index is -1 and fading fast. Democrats get you a glass of KOOL AID and sit back and watch OBAMA fail
