More of those Republican "family values" at work

Breaking news from South Carolina where Republican Governor Mark Sanford is confessing to a nearly 6 year affair with an Argentinian woman. In a shocking demonstration of "family values" and "honesty", Sanford (father of 4) admitted that he was not "hiking on the Appalachian Trail" as reported by his aides, but was instead shacking up with his mistress in Buenos Aires.

Sanford announced today that he was resigning as Chair of the Republican Governors Association.

So much for that run for president in 2012.

Now we know why Sanford led a boneheaded effort to reject Federal stimulus money for his dirt poor State - he was too distracted by his problems to worry about the citizens of South Carolina.

With philandering John Ensign (R,NV) and Governor Sanford (R, SC) maybe Republicans can finally put all this holier-than-thou, "we are the party of family values" to rest. It was all just a charade anyway.

I guess that family value thing is out the window at your home also Lowell. This story really hits home doesn't it party hack. The fulk home has something in common with a Republican who would have ever quessed that.

It is all the fault of Iowa, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and those other states that granted gays the right to marry. They ruined Mark Sanford's sacred marriage.

This, coming from the party of Clinton (hey, its just sex!), Spitzer, McGreevey, Kennedy, current NY Governor Paterson, John Edwards, etc. Repubs acting like Dems...you folks should be proud!

And what gives, other anon? Fulk stepped out on his wife or something? Oh, and Bubby, they get screen graphics wrong all the time, all the nets do. What's your problem with Fox, besides their place as the number one cable news net by a longshot? The libs have all the other nets...ain't happy with that?

Anon of 3:58,

I'm kind of curious myself.
About every two years some anon will begin with the innuendo but it's usually in an attempt to discredit me as a candidate. I'm not running for anything this year so I'm not sure what he's got in mind other than just trying to stir rumors.

Bubby said...

Fox Cable News is for people too stupid or lazy to read. You know, the people that thought Sarah Palin should have been VP, and that John McCain put "Country First". The FN business model is a bet on angry, dumb, and uninformed...and has proven successful. Imagine that.

Anonymous said...

Fulk, I don't care for you or your party hackery but stirring up rumors like the other anon did just ain't cool.

With that said, you could hardly have been more evasive in your response. Why not just nip it in the bud and state unequivocally you never did such a thing, so we can put that to, er, bed?

Anonymous said...

Bubby, its obvious you're a moron. What degrees do you hold? Are you an educated person? Again, Fox shouldn't matter b/c you've got all the other nest putting out Leftist propaganda. In fact, ABC is set to do so tonight for their Obama infomercial, where they wouldn't even take paid ads by groups with opposing views.

Its not Lowell that is stepping out it is Dianne stepping out on him. Lowell we all know you won't be running for anything else unless you fall off the tractor and bump your head your last campaign gave you a great idea what the people in our area think of you. Please everyone be kind to Lowell he is going threw a hard time.

Anonymous said...

If Dianne leaves you i wonder how you will try to cover that up party hack.

Lowell Fulk said...

Oh I didn't say I wouldn't be running again anon, I'm just not at this time.

And as usual, you toss things out while hiding. And as usual for cowards, you disparage my wife.

Going after my girls next?

We're pretty tough though, dealing with folks of your caliber doesn't present much in the way of challenge.

Anonymous said...

Lowell I would love for you to run again what a laugh that would be. Fulk you can try to hide this but you know the problems you and your wife are having are for real. You didn't object to what was said about Sarah Palin's daughter so which one would you like me to start with Rachel,Sarah or Claire ?

Anonymous said...

No party hack i don't have anything to say about your daughters i won't stoop to the level of the liberals but i bet that last comment did make you think about going after politicians kids the way you have before.

Anonymous said...

Lowell getting elected does seem to present quite the challenge for you doesn't it party hack hahaha lmao

Bubby enough Kool-Aid already slow down, Mark Sanford should give up his job and so should every Democrat that has done the exact same thing but wait a minute that wouldn't leave many Democrats in office would it.

You mindless little robot. Quit trying to tell people who they should marry, whether they should give birth, what they should believe, and who they should have sex with and I won't have to point out the hypocrisy of shitty little rightwing weasels like Mark Sanford.

This is simple stuff son. I'm just holding up the mirror, not my fault you are ugly.

"...going after politicians kids the way you have before."

Why don't you point it out anon? Not what I've ever seen him do.

As usual again, you lie, and then try to back up your lie with another lie.

No wonder you don't want folks to know who you are... Naming his kids? What're you, a stalker now?

And here's something for you to ponder: Why are you so obsessed with what Fulk may do next? Worried?
Nobody's mentioned it but you, and you go on and on... What's up coward? Not sleeping at night?

One can understand why you might not, considering the turmoil you must have inside, what with bouncing back and forth between self righteous hate and self loathing vindictiveness as you can't seem to help yourself from doing...

Conservative Republican Governor of South Carolina and Strong Contender for Republican Nomination for President in 2012, Mark Stanford.

What were you sayin' about Deeds anon?

Think about this for a minute: If Monica Lewinsky had a son by Bill Clinton, he would now be old enough that many GOP politicians wouldn't any longer find him attractive.

Lowell Fulk said...

I wonder,
Could we possibly direct our conversation to perhaps the issue of how to rebuild our infrastructure?

Anonymous said...

Sorry Lowell but,

"After winning election to Congress in 1994, Mr. Sanford voted to impeach President Bill Clinton after his deceptions regarding an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Around the same time, he said he struggled with whether to support Rep. Bob Livingston, who was in line to be House speaker when he acknowledged extramarital affairs. "We as a party want to hold ourselves to high standards, period," Mr. Sanford said during a 1998 interview with the Associated Press."

What a bunch of hypocrites. Enjoy your time in Argentina Governor? This governor "feels" bad cause he got caught screwing a South American. Not because he was willing to screw South Carolinians out of help solely because that help was from Barack Obama, a democrat. What do you have to say for yourselves republicants?

Gop Left ME, you should really be sure You know what you are talking about before you go to FULK'S defense. Bubby i think if spelling is all you can throw at the other anonymous you must not have much to say bad about him. Do you party hack? Make sure when you Democrats are printing your signs you put all the Democrats name on one sign so you won't forget who the other hacks tell you to vote for.

Give this to Republicans: They know how to conduct sex scandals in style.
Oh sure, Democrats have their sex scandals, but they're not nearly as interesting. For one thing, most Democrats busted in sex scandals aren't the same type of overbearing moral scolds and hypocrites as your average GOP politician.

1991: Clarence Thomas

To be fair, none of the allegations against Thomas could ever be proved, and most of the congressional hearings on the matter amounted to he-said-she-said testimony. Even so, Anita Hill's cringe-inducing charges that Thomas allegedly talked openly about pornographic films and pubic hair in the workplace captivated the nation. The hearings also marked the first -- and hopefully the last -- time that Orrin Hatch mentioned "Long Dong Silver" on the floor of the Senate.

1993: Sen. Bob Packwood

Interestingly, Packwood was a rare Republican who was supportive of abortion rights and was described by Boston Globe columnist Ellen Goodman as a "friend of feminism." That view changed for the worse, however, when 10 women accused him of sexual harassment or misconduct in the pages of the Washington Post. Packwood's friends tried to come to his defense, but for the most part, they ended up doing more harm than good. Ed Westerdahl, a member of the steering committee for Packwood's first Senate race in 1968, told the New York Times that we should be more forgiving of his old boss' behavior because "20 years ago, at parties, I'd see people doing much more than he's being accused of, and nobody gave it a second thought," and "the pinching, touching, feeling was considered to be friendly, not harassing." Even if we accept this preposterous premise, of course, it should be noted that the Oregon senator was also committing adultery, and I'm pretty sure there are some very old laws around describing that as a no-no as well.

1990s: Rep. Newt Gingrich-THIS IS A BIG ONE considering all the press this ass has been getting.

Throughout his career, this Georgia lawmaker has been one of the biggest moral charlatans in American political discourse. While he was impeaching President Bill Clinton for lying under oath about his affair with Monica Lewinsky, Gingrich said that Clinton had shown "a level of disrespect and decadence that should appall every American" after he had reduced the office of the presidency to the "rough equivalent of the 'Jerry Springer' show." The whole time, of course, Newt was cheating on his second wife with a woman more than 20 years his younger (who would later become his third wife). And then there's the matter of his first wife, with whom Gingrich initiated a divorce while she was recovering from cancer surgery.

2006: Rep. Mark Foley

Just over one month before the 2006 midterm elections, ABC News reported that Florida Republican Foley had sent several sexually explicit e-mails to teenage congressional pages. He referred to one of the pages as "my favorite young stud" and told him that he was "never too busy" to "spank it." Foley abruptly resigned in disgrace. I LOVE THE HYPOCRACY!

SWAC Girl said...

I'd like to spank him! 2007: Sen. David Vitter

On the surface, Vitter's habit of frequenting the infamous "D.C. Madam's" alleged den of inequity doesn't seem so bad. After all, he's just another family-values-lovin' pol who cheated on his wife with prostitutes. However, the rumors flying around that Vitter liked to be dressed up in adult diapers while at the brothel are what catapult this into an "Oh-this-must-be-a-Republican" sex scandal. The fact that the Louisiana senator would later co-sponsor the so-called "Marriage Protection Amendment" with Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, (see next entry) makes this all the juicier.

Anon, yes, that angry Anon said...

My Boy! 2007: Sen. Larry Craig

This scandal had everything: failed attempts at sex in the seediest location imaginable; fumbling mishaps with law-enforcement agents; and one of the all-time greatest coverup lies told by any politician. Admit it: When you heard that Craig had been arrested for allegedly playing footsy with a cop in an airport bathroom stall, you heard a muted trumpet in your head going, "Waaah, waaaah, waaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Craig's subsequent denial of the charges was classic as well, as he said he only rubbed the cop's foot for five minutes because he employed a "wide stance" while sitting on the toilet.

2009: Gov. Mark Sanford

What makes this scandal so bizarre really has nothing to do with the sex itself, but rather that: (a) South Carolina Gov. Sanford flew all the way down to Argentina to see his mistress and planned to stay there for more than a week; (b) he didn't tell anyone on his staff, who proceeded to embarrass themselves by claiming that Sanford was "hiking the Appalachian trail"; and (c) he apparently didn't think anyone in the state would notice that their governor had disappeared. If he had just kept his affair closer to home, he might still be on the fast track to the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Alas, now it seems the Republicans are going to have to go to their fallback plan of nominating Joe the Plumber.

Lowell Fulk said...

It's going to be interesting how this develops...

My guess, based on past GOP coeardice and BS, is that he will say "the devil made me do it." Then of course cowards like Limbaugh, Hannity, Boehner, FauxNEWs will claim that Clinton and Obama caused it. F'ed up really.
