Valley Legislators Sacrifice Their People for Politics part 1a

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 9, 2009

Yesterday, the Republican-led House of Delegates, with Delegate Lohr in tow, voted to deny the taxpayers of the Commonwealth the federal stimulus funding that they and their children are paying for.

Yesterday, the Republican-led House of Delegates, with Delegate Lohr in tow, voted to allow the use of taxes paid by Virginia=s citizens to be used to provide extended unemployment benefits for laid off factory workers in Flint, Michigan rather than to be used to provide such benefits for a laid off line worker in Dayton, Virginia.

Yesterday, the Republican-led House of Delegates, with Delegate Lohr in tow, voted to allow the use of Virginians= federal tax payments to provide extended unemployment benefits for fired single mothers in Boston, Massachusetts but refused to give the same help to a fired mother in Broadway, Virginia.

Yesterday, the Republican-led House of Delegates, with Delegate Lohr in tow, voted to send our federal taxes dollars to the hard-pressed people of California but declined to show the same care and consideration for hurting people living right here in the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Virginia.

The continuing harm done to Virginia=s struggling working, taxpaying families by Delegate Lohr in lockstep with his party leadership must end. The continuing lack of concern shown to our unemployed family members must end. And, in November 2009 when I have earned the support and votes of the people of the 26th District it will. Finally, it will.

Gene Hart
Democratic Party Candidate
26th House of Delegates District

Funny how this was never an issue months ago, or last election, or years ago. Democrats didn't really care about the unemployed and the underemployed until "free" money came from Obama. Suddenly they are all concerned. If it was that important, why didn't the Dems run on the issue and try to pass laws and try to pay for the extra benefits by cutting something else out of the budget? BECAUSE THEY ARE FRAUDS, and this is a made up issue to fool the sheeple.

They are like little kids playing politics: "OOOooooOOOOH! Look at us Mommy! We CARE about the people!" Bullshit has been declared.

In 1978, I was an fresh out of college and facing a similar bad employment situation. Many employers told me I was overqualified for the jobs I applied for, but the economy was so weak, better jobs were not available.

Then President Jimmy Carter, and the Democratic Congress legislated CETA - the Civilian Education and Training Act. Half of my salary was paid by the Federal government, and half by the employer - and a young man got a start on a career. It was just enough to keep me going for a year until the job market improved.

I've never forgotten that hand up, and I've never forgotten who provided it - the Democratic Party.

Always remember, Democrats waste money to save people and Republicans waste people to savemoney!
