Health Care - Candidate Forum

With Health Care cost rising and restrictions getting tighter, something has to be done in order to ensure we have the best and most affordable health care system.

3 Local Democratic Candidates will be holding a Public forum on health care to discuss their views and hear the public's concerns. This issue is not going to be solved over night but we want to ensure that everyone's voice is going to be heard.

Join Dr. Greg Marrow of the 25th district, Gene Hart of the 26th district and Erik Curren of the 20th district. These candidates will have a great opportunity to help create a reformed system to benefit us all.

This forum is so important that no one should miss it, once you read this, please let another friend know about it.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) announced last week that they were going to start using Republican politicians instead of rats in their experiments. Naturally, the Republican National Committee was outraged and filed suit. Yet, the NIH presented some very good reasons for the switch.

1. The lab assistants were becoming very attached to their little rats. This emotional involvement was interfering with the research being conducted. No such attachment could form for a Republican politician.

2. Republican politicians breed faster (when they choose a female partner) and are in much greater supply.

3. Republican politicians are much simpler to care for and the humanitarian societies won't jump all over you no matter what you're studying.

4. There are some things even a rat won't do.

ToniD you must have a VERY sad pathetic life. I have news for you the Democrats are not the GODS you think they are. Republicans dont have all the answers and the Democrats sure don't either. People like you are the reason the partys are so divided you think your way is the only right way.I think FULK will agree with me on this one.

Toni actually has a pretty good and rich life anon, she just likes to needle Republicans.

But I do agree Toni, let's try to see how far we can take a discussion on civil terms and based on ideas instead of falling into a quarrel of insults.

You two interested in playing pretty?

Fulk im tired of the blame game on both sides i myself have gotten caught up in it. Blaming the problems on the other party seems to be the easy way to go now days. The problem is it doesn't fix anything. If the Republicans and Democrats could come together and fix the economy i bet the American people couldn't care less who got the credit for it.The problem is the partys want to blame the other party for the bad and take credit for the good.I have said it a hundred times until we create jobs that people can retire from the economy will never be stable. We can spend another trillion dollars on yet another stimulus package if we want to but if it doesn't have any long term jobs in it its going to just be money out the window.Fulk the weather is to nice to be in front of a computer im going to the lake. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Maybe we can all come together and fix this great country.

Have a great time at the lake, keep your prop out of the mud...

And I'm with you on the working together hope. It might be up to us at the ground level to set the example.

O.K.,
I'll behave. But only because you asked me to. I look forward to the forum.

Anon,
Your last sentence speaks volumes. I truly believe that all of us "regular folk" have more in common as to our concerns about this great nation than our "leaders" would like us to believe. We have so many important issues confronting us that we cannot, as a nation, continue to remain polarized.

"United we stand and divided we fall." We need to unite on these important issues like healthcare because if we don't, the forces that don't want our voices heard, will win. This isn't about us per se, but about our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As a doctor, I'm sickened by the horror stories that many of my patients have regarding costs of medicines, elderly care and insurance. The USA is the greatest, richest nation in the world and we should not treat our hard working and retired citizens this way. We are above that.

I'm tired of 30% of the money that I pay on insurance premiums going to profit sharing and executive pay.

I hope that you have a great time at the lake (I'm sort of jealous that I can't go), but if you're back in town for the forum I'd appreciate your imput.

Regards.

Greg thanks for your comments. I hope that if you are elected you will keep some of that type of thinking as you will be making decisions that affect everyone. I am a Republican but in last years election i voted for Warner because i felt he was better suited for our needs. We need to forget party lines and vote for the best candidate. Im not in your district but good luck. thanks Tom
