It's Time to see Palin in the Proper Light

The following is the second installment in a 9 part series investigating Sarah Palin's far-right views...information all voters need to know.

2. Sarah Palin believes the U.S. Army is on a mission from God.

In June, Palin gave a speech at the Wasilla Assembly of God, her former church, in which she exhorted ministry students to pray for American soldiers in Iraq. "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she told them. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

Palin talked about her son, Track, an infantryman in the U.S. Army:

When he turned 18 right before he enlisted, he had to get his first tattoo. And I'm like -- I don't think that's real cool, son. Until he showed me what it was and I thought, oh he did something right, 'cause on his calf, he has a big ol' Jesus fish!
Holy war, holy warriors.

Don't you ever get tired of mindlessly spreading lies and un-truths? Or are you just tooooo lazy to find out the truth? Here, lazy one, is what really was said, I'll let the rest consider whether it is a fair quote or not.

"According to the AP, Sarah Palin said this about the troops while at church:

'Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God,'

According to real life, Sarah Palin said this about the troops while at church (with the AP's selective quoting underlined):

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God,"

The AP quote means "Iraq is a mission from God."

The actual quote means "We pray Iraq is a mission from God."

The headline is even more misleading.

Palin: Iraq war 'a task that is from God'

The AP not only doesn't mention the previous sentence, or the first part of the sentence they quote, they also essentially ignore the meaning of the very next sentence as well. 'That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.'

This is a statement of humble reflection from Palin. To translate into terms the media might understand, its 'I hope we're doing the right thing.'"

But the truth doesn't square with the liberal template that she is a kook. Or with their fervent desire to lie about her, and tear her down.

Maybe, just maybe, Hard Right friend of Sen. Craig,
You need to go back to your usual "group think" yahoo freak website where Myron, Christa and other rascist, chauvanistic simpletons like yourself, with nothing else to do, will blog foolish, cowardly nonsense to make you feel better.
