Marrow Plan to Promote Nurses

Trained and licensed nurse practitioners should have more autonomy to provide primary care in rural Virginia, according to Greg Marrow, Democratic candidate in the 25th House District.

An optometrist, Marrow said Thursday that some people travel long distances to see doctors when licensed professionals could be treating patients for routine medical care closer to where they live.

Marrow, who is challenging Del. Steve Landes, R-Weyers Cave, wants to change the state's laws to allow nurse practitioners greater flexibility to meet a projected shortage of doctors.

No new concept here. Steve Landes supports the same thing and is working with The Virginia Rural Health Association to get legislation passed on their behalf.

Ha! Steve Landes has been down in Richmond for 13 years and now he says, "me too" to Licensed Practitioners? Sure glad we had ol'Steve on the job.

Landes does have a spectacular record for giving out "commendations" and he has delivered several new "commemorative license plates".

We need a Delegate that works for the Valley.

Bubby, I think the people in the 25th know what Steve Landes looks like more than Marrow LOL Good try though. Marrow? Who is that? He is the gynecologist from Harrisonburg right?

"He is the gynecologist from Harrisonburg right?"

No, Dr. Greg Marrow is an Optometrist from Rockingham left. He can't help you with your female things.

I don't think Marrow is a real "doctor." He has no MD.

Hahahaha... yeah Marrow's wife said he is not a big help with her female things too.

Acorn just had its government funds cut off but not before it could donate to the Deeds campaign. Is anyone one shocked that Deeds and Shannon both have been getting donations from this corrupt bunch.

Awesome. Thread winner! Marrow will be lucky to sniff 40%.

The level of discourse from anon republicans is disappointing but hardly surprising. Sad to see the once proud GOP being represented by such as you.

That's why I left Shari. Lunatics and Liars have taken over.

Why are health insurance companies and hospital corporations Steve Landes largest contributors? They must have extra money to spend.

Steve Landes sure gets a lot of money from the alcohol industry. Is that why he want to give the ABC away?

Can anyone say "Bought and Paid For?"
Why should we trust Steve Landes?

I wonder how much the people "in the district" will like him when they find out he's owned?

The only thing that will matter is alot more people will vote for Landes than will vote for Marrow. I know this is hard for you party hacks to understand but on Nov.3rd it will be broke down for you where you can understand it.

Landes says that "this idea is nothing new." Why the hell hasn't he done anything about it? We're already in a health care crisis here. To say that the "idea is nothing new" is just ignorant. Who cares if its new or not, it needs to be done!

Kudos to Marrow for having the foresight and courage to act on it. he has more energy and integrity is his pinkie than Landes has in his whole boring body. Landes is nothing more than a party hack and corporate whore.
